Joel 2:15 ”Blow the trumpet in Zion,
Consecrate a fast,
Call a sacred assembly…
Gather the children and nursing babes…
Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?’”

On September 8, 2009 at Noon eastern time/9 a.m. pacific daylight time President Obama will address the Nation’s children with a school speech via live video feed. Thousands if not millions of concerned parents are already beginning to take action against what many are calling, “Obama’s social indoctrination.” Other concerned parents have dubbed Sept. 8, “Keep Your Kids at Home Day.” Parents will have their children either opt out of the President’s speech or they will give their children permission to stay home that day. What if the kids who opted out all gathered around their flagpoles to pray? What if the children staying home put aside television and video games and instead united with their parents to fast and pray in the spirit of Elijah (Malachi 4:5-6)? What if children everywhere were praying for their President, for revival in their nation, and revival in their schools? What would happen if millions joined in, with a grassroots movement of prayer and fasting for the greatest spiritual awakening in the history of this nation?

We are asking parents all across this nation to unite for what could be a flashpoint of a great spiritual awakening. Would you consider writing your children permission slips that say, “My child has my permission to ‘opt’ out of President Obama’s Speech on September 8, 2009 to pray at the flag pole”? If you know other Christians who would join in, please forward this message to everyone you can, and let’s see this nation turn back to God. Let us make a bold declaration that we want our children to hear the voice of God before they hear the voices of men.

Many people’s concern regarding the indoctrination of our children stemmed from, according to ABC news, the language of the preparatory materials where students had been asked to, “Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.” It is easy to see the reason for people’s concern. The President, as a public servant, is supposed to serve the people, not the other way around. The people are called to serve God, our nation, and the constitution, and not taught be to “serve” the President. So the Whitehouse has revised the language. According to the new version, the U.S. Department of Education, is saying, the President will challenge students to work hard, set education goals, and take responsibility for their learning. It leaves us begging the question, “was their wording a non-tactful misrepresentation, or was the administrations original intent to rise up a political agenda in the youth, which they quickly changed due to public concern?”

According to Onenewsnow.com:

Neal McClusky with the Cato Institute’s Center for Educational Freedom believes the Obama administration is engaging in outright indoctrination of school children. He says that on September 8, Obama will address schools nationwide — and in conjunction with that speech, school teachers have been sent study packets and a letter from the Department of Education, complete with assignments and questions to ask their students.

The letter says that ‘no other task is more critical to our economic future and our social progress than what these schools do.’ Now that alone is a little disturbing because it suggests that the schools are supposed to be pushing social change,” McClusky notes. McClusky calls the event “unprecedented.” He adds that the Constitution lays out explicit powers for the federal government and education is not among them. “So the federal government has been really unconstitutionally involved in education for the last 40-some years,” McClusky says.”

Therefore, we are summoning believers from all across the state and the nation to gather for a defining moment of reversal. When there is no remedy, when there is no natural hope, God still has a holy prescription. Blow the trumpet in Zion, gather the people, and call a fast (Joel 2). Let the believers of this great nation gather and cry out to God, believing that September 8th could become the flash point of real “change” in America, not the open door to societal collapse. Let us return to fasting and prayer on September 8, 2009 at Noon Eastern time/9 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time and seek the face of God for President Obama, revival in our nation, and revival in our school.

You should be ashamed. You have no right to call yourself a Christian.

These people are either severely brain-washed, or severely incapable of rational thinking. How they are turning this into a government plot to spread socialism is beyond comprehension, as is most of the hate and lies coming from the right wing conservatives. It just keeps get more and more bizarre, but then again they probably can’t afford the mental health care that they so desperately need.

I am a passionate believer in Christ. I was wondering how this looks through Romans 13:1-7.

Pauls tells us to submit to governing authorities, when at that time the governing authorities were putting christians to death. He still says submit and honor. I don’t agree with a lot of what Obama does, but what are your thoughts on this?

    Romans 13:1-7
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

I read the speech, and it seems to have nothing to do with social indoctrination..it just seems that it is a good speech about personal responsiblity? Why should I have my kids walk out on that? I suppose this started before we knew what the speech said? seems sill now.

I did not cast a vote for our president, but I believe the Lord put him there for a reason. Whatever it may be. I believe this movement is encouraging our kids in rebellion. There has to be a better solution. A walk out is not the answer. Do not allow your children to become “Clanging gongs or noisy cymbals.” Talk to them about your concerns and convictions in the privacy of your homes. Have them listen to President Obama’s speech. Let them learn what he is about and tell them to pray over the top of his speech. He is still the leader of our nation, and deserves respect, if only for the fact that the Bible commands it.

Romans 13:1-7 states, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
